Satellite internet question?

We have satellite internet which can be slower than dial up. I wonder why if the satellite tv works ok then why can' the internet. We used to have hughes but they were going through some kind of law suit and shut down for 3 weeks and all you got was a voice recording and then we got on a different internet provider and that was even slower, like 5 minutes for a page to load. I heard of bluefly or something like that, but their satellites are small and I've read they weren't great either. Does anyone know of any companies that are good? We don't live in town so we can't get cable or anything like that. Thanks!
