Criminal record and becoming a cop?

Im currently reapplying for a state trooper position and I have a record that stems from my early 20ties, all fighting offenses. The last time I applied I made it all the way to the second background meeting where I was let go in the process and told to wait a bit longer and re-apply. Well I went back to college and finished off my bachelors degree in business management as well as taking some criminal justice courses. It has been 10 years since I last got into trouble with the law and a year since I last applied. The question is do I have a chance to get into law enforcement with a criminal record. I have done all I can to prove I am a changed person.
