Can you recover money from a fraudulent ebay seller?

Chances are the user is not even in your country. If you could find the person most countries have fraud laws that might allow you to recover your money. In the US a court order could force a US bank to give those details. But if the bank isn't in the US, a US court order won't do much good. I would consult a lawyer if you are interested in the effort, but frankly it would probably be cheaper to accept it as a lesson and move on.
