Am I wrong to go to dinner tonight with a male friend now that I have a boyfriend?

So I have this friend that at one point in time was a friend with benefits. We haven't been like that for about 2 months now. In those 2 months, I started hanging out with this guy and we've been dating. This past weekend he asked me to be his girlfriend. So the problem is my friend asked me to go to sushi with him sometime this week (we're the only 2 in our circle who like sushi). My boyfriend doesn't know this friend. I don't have any interest in sleeping/making out with him anymore; strictly platonic. Is it wrong for me to go to sushi with my friend without my boyf? I don't want to bring my boyf because I just think that would be awkward. And I don't want really want to tell my boyf because he likes sushi and probably wouldn't like me going without him, regardless of who I went with.
