I need help with this recipe, I have a few questions?

Without knowing what your exact recipe is, I can only guess... maybe the flour was to dust on the chicken so you could brown it before putting into the crock-pot. I usually mix my soup with about 3/4 soup can of water or milk and then pour a little in the bottom of the pot, layer in the chicken pieces, pour more soup mixture on top. This way it makes it's own gravy and is delicious! I see nothing wrong with using a canned soup as a sauce. No one has ever complained about my cooking this way either. Do it YOUR way.
