Does rain ruin bird seed?

I know that we are supposed to get rid of mildewed bird seed from our bird feeder. But what about bird seed that has just been rained on? Is it still OK to use the bird seed that has been rained on? I am talking about an outside bird feeder for wild birds (finches). Thanks a lot.
