Dietary suggestions for gland issues?

Our recently adopted 3 year old shepherd/beagle mix has issues with her glands. They need to be expressed about every 2 weeks. If not, she "leaks" or "squirts" the foul smelling fluid. I've heard that possibly, a fiber rich diet may help with the situation. Any experience/suggestions?
